Who is responsible

When you visit

No cookies and no advertising or analytics trackers. We count visits ourselves, on our own server: the page, the language, the version of the page shown, the button clicked, the site you came from and, if you use the passport tool, the country you chose.

To count a visitor only once per day, we compute a code from your IP address and your browser, mixed with a key that changes every day. The key of the previous day is deleted, so you cannot be followed from one day to the next. Your IP address is not stored with these statistics.

For the length of the visit, your browser keeps a few small values (session storage): the version of the page shown to you, the site you came from and, if the link had one, the campaign name. They disappear when you close the tab and are never used to follow you on other sites.

When you leave your email

If you ask to be told when access opens, we record your email, whether it is a gift, and the language and page you were on. We use it only to write to you when access opens.

Legal basis: your consent. We keep the email until access opens, and 12 months at most. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

When a university writes to us

The form for universities records the name, work email, institution, country and message. We use them only to answer the request.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering. Kept for 12 months at most.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records each request (IP address, date, page requested, browser) for security and to block abuse. These logs are rotated automatically and are kept for 4 days at most.

Who else sees your data

Nobody. We do not sell or share your data, and we use no third-party service on this site: fonts and maps are served from our own server. Our host stores the data on its server in France, in the European Union.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to contact@unitlas.com. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
